yes! i think his confidence was a problem. but his skills were quite good. not saying he didn't improve them, but...

He has looked suspect on crosses since his junior days. Likewise Kerr.

His skills were never in question and he showed that early even while playing for some backwater DCup team that never left their zone but he was never the aggresive type like a Kerr or Barrett.

But if Ricketts could have overcome these same problems to become the best goalkeeper in the MLS that produces superb 'keepers, there is hope for him.
