The stadium at Uihlein (pronounced E-line) Soccer Park here in Milwaukee has just finished a conversion from natural grass to artificial Field Turf. The Wisconsin boys' state high school soccer championships started there today.
The championship stadium has been renamed Time Warner Cable Stadium.
A total of 13 games in three divisions will be played on the brand new pitch today through Saturday. Four games are scheduled for today. Six matches will be held Friday, and the three championship matches will be played on Saturday.
Historically, the boys championships, held in October, and the girls championships held in June have been plagued by foul, rainy weather, and soggy pitches throughout the complex.
