Maybe ... he doesn't stay one place too long. May go against him.

fergie says rooney wants to leave, rooney weighs in and confirms, "that person" then says rooney will re-sign with man u (when ALL evidence points otherwise), rooney re-signs to the utter amazement of almost everyone (including rooney) .... now this...

LOL .... yuh thinking too hard dude. Didn't he say if MU wants to sell Rooney to give him a call?

Fergie won things too, yet he wasn't a globetrotter. Please note I am in no way against him getting the position, just pointing out that the Institution called Manchester United likes stability. Lets see how it guh nuh?

perhaps...but after i saw mourinho's comment.....i was somewhere wid a bunch a englishman and i told them straight up...rooney WILL resign. mourinho wants to coach rooney..he has said so...but if he "poached" rooney he would NOT be welcome in mancunia...therefore everything poined to only one outcome in the rooney saga..TRUST ME...i saw it coming!

MANCHESTER UNITED IN TALKS WITH GUARDIOLA

MANCHESTER UNITED have sounded out Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola about making a sensational switch to Old Trafford.

              #bodycopy a { font-size: 12px; }
United officials have made contact with Guardiola’s agent to see if he would be interested in leaving the Spanish giants at the end of the season.

And Starsport understands that Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has given the thumbs-up to his bosses that Guardiola is the ideal choice to replace him when he retires.

Officials have spoken to the Spaniard’s agent Josep Maria Orobitg, and have received encouraging signals that he would consider the shock move.

Guardiola is only on a year-to-year deal with Barca, and is not due to sit down and start talks over him staying beyond next summer until January.

But the prospect of working in the Premier League – and being able to assume full command of a club from top to bottom – is understood to be of huge interest to the 39-year-old.

United have moved quickly to line up a new manager as they prepare for Ferguson announcing his retirement.

The United boss has not made it clear whether he wants to stay after the end of the season.

But he would not want to leave unless they have found a manager capable of continuing the club’s era of success.

Fergie indicated Guardiola’s proven success at one of the giants of world football is evidence enough he has the character and ability to succeed him in the Old Trafford hotseat. And he has also been impressed by the brand of football he employs with the Spanish champions, something Fergie says is important for the traditions of United.

Guardiola won the treble in his first year at the Nou Camp – Champions League, La Liga and Spanish Cup.

He followed that up by delivering a second Spanish title last year, and has also impressed by the way he has handled big-name players with big egos.

Barca will fight to keep hold of their man, but, given he is free to leave, United know he would be available without the need to pay out massive compensation.

One of the main attractions of moving to Old Trafford would be the ability to work in a similar way to Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho by assuming control from top to bottom.

Currently, although his technical team meets with senior Barca officials every December to discuss the strategy for the future, he does not have the final say on new signings.

And although his Barcelona side is widely regarded as the most talented in world football, he is not paid anywhere near as much as other leading coaches.

United would be able to offer a massive wage rise and, though Guardiola is more motivated by a challenge, such a contract would be hard to resist.
