The Special General Meeting (Voting Congress) of the Jamaica Football Federation will be held today in the Black River Theatre, Iberostar Suites Hotel, St James.
The meeting, which will begin at 10 a.m., will have as its main items the address by its president, Captain Horace Burrell; an Activity Report by general secretary Horace Reid; and a presentation of the annual accounts (audited) for year ending 2008 and the unaudited accounts to June 2010. This will be presented by treasurer Garfield Sinclair.

Invitees to the congress include parish association representatives, the board of directors, minor affiliates, life members and observers.

President Burrell will review his administration's term in office for the period November 2007 to present; and outline the areas of priorities for the coming period of the administration.

The general secretary's report, which has been circulated to delegates, will give a detailed review of all aspects of the administration's work over the last three years.

The entire executive of the federation was returned unopposed to serve another term.

"I want to thank the fraternity for having returned myself and the full team unopposed," said Captain Burrell. "This certainly is a signal that the fraternity is united, and united we stand, divided we fall."

He added: "I'm very optimistic that within the next four years, with the family working together as a team, we should be able to achieve our desired goals."

Officers who will be serving for another four years are: president - Captain Horace Burrell; first vice-president - Dale Spencer; second vice-president - Bruce Gaynor; third vice-president - Raymond Anderson; treasurer - Garfield Sinclair; and executive officer - Loraine Scringer.
