Jamaica will step up its preparation for the CONCACAF Under 17 World Cup Qualifiers when the Jamaica National Under 17 team will play two practice games against the Canada National Under 17 team on Sunday, October 31 and Tuesday, November 2 at Jarrett Park, St James.
Following up on his public commitment to facilitate the best possible preparation for the national team, President of the Jamaica Football Federation, Captain Horace Burrell in commenting on the games said “We have every intention of not just hosting a successful event in February but also giving our team the best chance to be amongst the four teams qualifying out of the tournament. We know that practice games especially against international teams is an important way to sharpen our team’s preparation”
[FONT='Arial','sans-serif']The Canadian National Head Coach Sean Fleming in commenting on the games said “We look forward to our matches against Jamaica. Jamaica has always had good teams and we expect these to be great matches. It is good for our team to be able to come to Jamaica before the CONCACAF Men's Under-17 Championship in February. These international matches are critical for our development as a team."[/FONT]

Jamaica has qualified once for this age group competition in 1999 but Canada in recent times has qualified on four occasions (1987 when it hosted the tournament; 1989; 1993; and the last time in 1995.)[/FONT]
