I like the idea... my take is the deliberate handball on the line (between the posts) should result in a goal awarded. The problem is deciding what is deliberate... that's why it is also imperative that FIFA move from the dark ages into the 21st century and use available technology to assist the referees.

+1. Deliberate intentional handball on the goalline should count as an automatic goal. By awarding a penalty after a deliberate hand ball on a goalbound shot, the referee is actually giving the opposing team a 50/50 opportunity to get back into tha game. We saw how Suarez turned from villain to hero at the 2010 WC.
That should never be acceptable in present day football.
