MARLON King and Danny Ward are set to be unleashed on Leicester City in tomorrow’s Championship derby at the Ricoh Arena.
Coventry City boss Aidy Boothroyd was last night in the process of finalising both moves with the controversial striker expected to sign a one-year deal today while exciting winger Ward has joined on loan from Bolton until January.
And the Sky Blues’ boss is confident both players will make a significant impact in his team with 18-year-old Ward helping to set up goals and King banging them in.
“He looks very, very sharp and he will get goals,” he said about the 30-year-old centre-forward, who could figure alongside Lukas Jutkiewicz or Clive Platt while Freddy Eastwood looks set to sit the game out with a knee injury.
“When he came to "We are very close and hopefully we will have him in the squad for Leicester.
“There are no problems, it is just a very delicate situation and the club have been as professional as they possibly can be in making sure we have covered all bases – that we make sure everything is right for the player, the club and everyone concerned with it.
“It is a where now most people are saying, are you going to do it or not and if you are, get on with it.
"And I think they are probably right in saying that, so we will have to see what we can do and hopefully tie it up for the weekend.
