in the half i watched... watched the second half and peru was definitely the better team... jamaica plays too much long balls in the air... didn't maintain possession... saw players trying to take too many touches too... work needs to be done from what i see... think our players would be more structured in their play...

If we expecting any major improvements, it is not happening. Most of our players have serious limitations when it comes to either off the ball movement, passing, ball control, shooting etc. They have other attributes that allow them to be a threat to teams who are much better technically and have players who are tactically superior. Too late for most of them to significantly alter their bad habbits.
It simply shows that we need better teachers for our younger players in the school and club system. The product being fed to the national team is sub standard.

First: Good to see here!
I have a big problem...great pain when I see our players not employing commonsense when on the field. Why is it we were so consistent in giving the ball to Peruvians?
I would think our players knew before they took the field that the Peruvians were not on our side?
Why would Shelton for example have drawn the defenders to him and not seen a TEAMmate free in front of an empty goal...yes, the goalkeeper also had pivoted to where the ball was? He sure could not have been so foolish to have seen his TEAMmate and refused to sensibly pass the ball to that TEAMmate?
Why did our players repeatedly take the ball so near to the Peruvians ever so often they were repeatedly running into..'a bounce up bounce up innah di Peruvians dem'? Did not one of our players realise that the ball should be passed more often when our players were a little farther from the Peruvian opponent ... not that close such that the ball was lost...given away?
For Christ-sake we were losing the ball repeatedly! Were all our players dumb to...or blind to what was going on?
Fast?
Sure they had the speed...but did you see any sensible consistent use of that speed? I did not see it!
Yes I have a problem when our players represent us and send a message that Jamaican are fools. Trust me the message is not only about the players on the field being stupid. It is also a message that says Jamaicans are stupid. That gives me pain! ...because even with what my eyes see these guys doing...making asses of themselves...I refuse to believe that there are not sensible players who can perform at levels 10...20 times better than these wasters.Last edited by Karl; September 8, 2010, 12:10 AM."Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Let's face facts if our boyz had won...a clear assessment of how the Peruvians could string passes together at will.
Turn on and turn off attacking periods at will.
With our players help, prevent us from putting 4 or 5 passes together.
Could at will meander into our penalty-area.
With movement and passing open our defense at will...and tear our shape apart...
...shows more than any other thing that our players were not thinking on doing anything to level the playing field for themselves.
I do not care who it is, it must be a fool who takes the ball repeatedly into the opponent. In 90 minutes nothing tells him, for example, that going with his friend i.e. the one-two or passing around the obstacle is, the sensible alternative?
I do not care what anyone says, it is a fool who keeps making bad passes and do not adjust his passing by either passing to his TEAMmates when only GOD is by the TEAMmates side (i.e. making safe passing...passes that do not give the ball to an opponent) or use a combination of his movement and pace to free self being in positions that lessens his risk of losing the ball.
...or discusses with - scream at...not in anger but to point out...or quietly goes up to his team mates and say gents "let's move and pass in a manner were we do not lose the ball like it is a hot potato.
...or looking on how the Peruvians were manhandling them by running the ball around them - does not say we are getting a few chances...gents when we break free if a man is free in front of goal, let's use him. Let us cut out the not working trying to beat 3 men or more...or even 1 man...when there is one of us free!
Let's dump the ball in the goal every chance we get as on running the ball around these guys have our number!
You tell me not doing stuff like that is not saying to all watching that we watched a bunch...a collective...a group of fools!"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

I would disagree that its too late for them to alter the bad habits all that can be rectified by the coach.
Tappa did two things good in that game , 1) He closed down the open areas quickly and 2) They counter attacked with speed quickly. The scoreline isnt misleading, Peru didnt have an open avenue to our goal, they worked thier asses off to open it up and clinically did.We also had chances , lest not forget that , playing a terrible game!
They desperately need a creative midfielder , and the ball management was poor .If Fuller had been up front it would have been worse.
Tappa has alot of work to do , alot, but what I saw cannot be discarded after one bad game , They didnt have much rest if any after defeating C.Rica and 5 new players were on the field.
Not an excuse but a significant discarded fact.
Tappa get me that creative midfielder.Cummings and R.Johnson , along with Richards will have to lead us in our next campaign.Fuller and Shelton have bench duties awaiting them.THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Errrr X Peru had the same amount of rest as they defeated Canada 2-0 on the weakend. Not an excuse but a discarded fact. Speed without skill only works in the Caribbean or thye MLS. In the main our so-called athletic speedy forwards cannot beat reutable defenders one on one. Consequently they just dribble straight int defenders. The English use to play kick and run we now play kick and sprint and hope for the best. Very ugly on the eyes. On the other hand I was impresssed with the play of Richard Edwards and a few others.
