The President of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has rubbished suggestions that the Federation should make a concerted effort to build the program around youth plaers in a bid to reach the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The JFF boss says age should not matter as all players should be selected on merit.
“They may have potential but it will take time to acquire a certain level of maturity that is better than what we now have. In order to represent Jamaica’s national team, you have to be better than the one you’re going to represent but this notion about putting in players because they’re young is foolishness and I’m not accepting that,” Captain Horace Burrell said.

I didnt know that Captain was responsible for the selection of players. How can he make such a statement. Since when is the final decision not at the coach's discretion.
