"Ronaldinho may join Los Angeles Galaxy"
    16 July 2010

    Ronaldinho of AC Milan.
(GSM) - Real Salt Lake owner Dave Checketts has hinted that AC Milan star Ronaldinho may join Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Galaxy in the near future.

The 30-year-old playmaker, who was left out of Brazil's squad for the World Cup, has been linked with possible transfers to Flamengo or the MLS, although Milan's general manager Adriano Galliani claims that the player will stay at the 'Rossoneri'.

"I expect [...] Major League Soccer to make another announcement in the next couple of days about another very big world superstar coming to our league," Checketts revealed to radio station KALL 10 Sports.

Checketts, who made sure to add that this announcement will not involve his own team, would not release any more information about the exact identity of the player but left little space for speculation.

"I would imagine that this guy is coming to L.A. and you'll all recognise who he is." Asked whether the player is Brazilian, Checketts just said "I think he might".

Earlier this week, it was announced that French striker Thierry Henry is set to join New York RB.

Him drop off badly yes. But given the success of Schelotto at Columbus, he should be able to perform at a great level even if he goes to the league in worse shape than last year.

Yes he signed a 5 year contract at the start of 2007, but will be out injured for this season, is already 35 and the MLS allows teams to have 3 "superstar" players who do not count against the salary cap limit.

The Galaxy announced that they made back their money in no time, so it was definitely worth it for them.
