<SPAN style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: newspaper; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Although Christmas just passed a few days ago, I am hoping Santa Claus still has a few gifts in his bag for sporting organisations here in western Jamaica. </SPAN>
<SPAN style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: newspaper; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">I have no doubt the respective football associations and other sporting bodies will have no problems accepting belated gifts from jolly ole Santa. </SPAN>
<SPAN style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: newspaper; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">At the top of the list would be permanent home fields for the respective Premier League clubs, Seba United and Wadadah of St James, Village of Trelawny and Reno of Westmoreland. </SPAN><SPAN id=Ar0460002 style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: newspaper; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"></SPAN>
<SPAN style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: newspaper; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Seba and Wadadah are once again seeking a place to ‘cotch’, while Jarrett Park is closed for yet another event and the clubs have to go find an alternative venue. </SPAN>
<SPAN style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: newspaper; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) has come to their aid with temporary stands at the Catherine Hall complex, but that is still not enough. Who knows whether they will get the required bathrooms and changing facilities to make the place acceptable to the standards required by the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF). </SPAN>

<SPAN style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: newspaper; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Village has been in protracted negotiations with the Trelawny Parish Council to develop the Elliston Wakeland Centre. </SPAN>
<SPAN style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: newspaper; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Club president, Steve Bennett, and his executive have solid plans in place to develop the rundown facilities and it is a shame that politics and ignorance are holding up progress. </SPAN>
<SPAN style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: newspaper; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Hopefully, Village won’t have to do what Reno has done, moving away from the parish of their birth, even temporarily, for the powers that be to come to their senses. </SPAN>

<SPAN style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: newspaper; TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Regardless of which side you take, Reno's move has been a success for them. Not only was the Frome field in a poor state but the club was not able to collect at the gate and was taking a serious hit in the pocket. </SPAN>
