    In this day and age there is really no reason for that at the highest level of the game. Everyone understands that replay can't be used for every close decision but some like that one (which wasn't close) just should not happen.

    I am yet to hear of a case where technology has been introduced in the decision making process of a sport and the fans want to go back to how it was before.

      I am for goal-line technology. FIFA knows it is necessary. The authorities know that it will be a great help in areas situations where it is impossible for the assistant ref or the referee to be properly placed to see whether or not the whole of the ball has entered the goal.

      These 2 stand out -
      Shot at goal from half-line or attackers half when the defensive line is on or near half-line;

      Assistant ref and ref is 'up-field' on same side of the field on which the ball is being played on the touch-line and play is swiftly switched across goal and on goal.

        The commentators say Blatter is against it because it is not possible to use it at all levels.

        I hope they are misquoting him because that is just moronic.

          I think I heard that moronic excuse given... May just be Blatter. He is known to make fool of self...frequently.
