Maxwell willing to return to Waterhouse
Five days after being sacked by Waterhouse FC, Coach Geoffrey Maxwell says he would readily accept an invitation to return, if something can be worked between himself and club president Ricky Chin.
Maxwell was sacked on Friday, citing personal problems between himself and Chin but after a relatively good season, the much travelled coach would be willing to return to the home of his greatest success.
“I could say that I built Waterhouse, the platforms that are there now and if we sit down at a table…and I am asked to return to the club, I would go back there because Waterhouse is bigger than any player or president,”
“As far as I am concerned I think I have a bigger commitment in terms of the love for the community, the love for the team. This is all about power and if the president is really sincere he would admit that it is a difference between the preparation of the team, myself and him,” he said.
Maxwell guided Waterhouse to the Premier League title in 1998.
