ok thats fair. But the fact is they use the world cup to cloud thier judgement. Its not about if your team wins. You can well have the best year in the game and your team did not win. Zidane is second this year yet his team did not win anything but he had a great worldcup so poeple are bias. Henry led the one of the top league in the world in scoring without a whole lot of support. He led his team to The CL championship and his team to the WC championships. There is no Way Canavorro is the best player in the World. Are you saying that he is . Fuller watch stoke play C B watch Boys town. I am sure I see more game per week than CB because I have a regular job and can do that..

On the other hand, OJ, was Zidane going on with anything while at Real Madrid or France prior to the World Cup? Maybe his votes were a result of his good showing at the Big Dance.

maybe your interest in football is quite limited , certainly Cannavaro along with Nesta have been rated for years as the two top center half pairings in the world for many years now.

People always goes for flashly players the headline makers (the goalscorers) yet ppl like Goalkeepers and Defenders rarely get the recognition

imagine a consistent player like Makalele being named Chelse player of the year much less ranked in the world player top 10

Cannavaro would have been in most ppl fantasy world cup teams and yes he was touted to do his usual excellent work

OJ (12/20/2006) Henry led the one of the top league in the world in scoring without a whole lot of support. ..

*I have been telling gamma, Lazie, youand anyone who would listen that Henry on Arsenal has tremendous support...but, he uses that support poorly much too often.

*I usually put it this way - Henry has too many walk-about-days/moments in matches. ...& he has had the rest of the TEAM playing as 'fetchers and bring-come' players.

Perhaps, I should put it this way - Henry has a world class supporting class who you all give 'no credit'!

Look no further than my saying, last year that "Henry could leave for all I care"! ...and, I explained why - The supporting cast would provide us with more TEAM. They would have had today - almost one and one-half seasons under their belt and the GUNNERS would be the better for it!

Sure if Henry played TEAM for every minute of every match the GUNNERS would be waaaaay ahead in this seasons EPL...but, TEAM is never a one man show! ...as so many still...to this day...continue to think!
