Soccer Player Given Yellow Card For Dying

When it comes to officiating in the sport of soccer, it appears as though diving will be tolerated.

Dying, on the other hand, will not.

Mladost FC's Goran Tunjic found that out the hard way when he collapsed in the 35th minute of a match against Hrvatski Sokol. The Croatian footballer fell to the ground untouched, causing the official to issue a yellow card for simulation before realizing that the situation was much more serious than he had initially thought.

The medical team was called out onto the field. Unfortunately, by that time it was too late. Tunjic was pronounced dead.

I heard that the story was misleading. It is reported elsewhere that he fell away from the play and the ref and other players rushed over. The match card should confirm the truth though.
