The FA should launch an investigation into how Stoke prostituted themselves in that 7 - 0 drubbing last weekend.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis furious over dressing room leaks after Glenn Whelan's spat with Abdoulaye Faye at Chelsea

Tony Pulis has revealed his fury after a second bust-up involving Stoke players leaked out of the dressing room.

Sportsmail revealed how Glenn Whelan and Abdoulaye Faye squared up during the shock 7-0 defeat at Chelsea on Sunday.

The pair had to be pulled off each other by astonished team-mates at Stamford Bridge. They went head-to-head at half-time of the after a war of words descended into a brawl.

David and Goliath: Whelan (left) and Faye have been integral figures for Stoke

Midfielder Whelan and defender Faye were at the centre of the fracas as passions spilled over with the side three down at the interval.

Pulis said: 'I maintain that what happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room. Both Glenn Whelan and Abdoulaye Faye are disappointed that again the confines of our sanctuary have been breached.
'The lads have also expressed their own disappointment, but understand that there are obviously one or two people who, for their own reasons, feel it necessary to leak out this information.
'Irrespective of these individuals, we are desperate to get back on the pitch, and put in a performance that truly shows our achievements this season in the right light.

'The game against Everton is already sold out, so we have a great opportunity to show everybody outside Stoke-On-Trent that the dressing room, the terraces and the Boardroom are united in their aims to help this great Club in its quest to keep moving onwards and upwards.'

Bust-up: Pulis fell out with Beattie (bottom right)

It is not the first time Pulis has experienced problems with his squad - he himself was at the centre of a heated confrontation in December with striker James Beattie. But this one involved two players who have been cornerstones of the Potters' campaign.

Whelan was upset at the manner in which his skipper, Faye, had approached the fixture at the home of the Champions-elect.

The Irishman was fuming at his colleague's allegedly lackadaisical approach in the warm-up. And when Faye was substituted after nine minutes following a muscle strain, the midfielder's ire was fuelled further. Whelan let rip when the teams returned to the dressing-room at half-time. Faye, a 6ft 2in defender who has carved out a career as a no-nonsense centre-half, clearly wasn't in the mood to discuss the issue and flew at his critic.

The two then had to be separated by team-mates as an astonished Pulis and his backroom team looked on. A source confirmed the incident last night, saying: 'Their passion got the better of them. It happens.'
