Waterhouse Football Club will oppose a Haitian All-Stars team in a benefit match today in Nassau, The Bahamas.
The match, to be played at the Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre, is in aid of victims of the recent devastating earthquake in Haiti.
A strong Waterhouse team is expected to take the field as the touring party includes leading strikers Kevin Lamey and Jermaine Anderson, midfielders Kenardo Forbes, Vincent Earl and Jonathan Williams and the outstanding goalkeeper, Richard McCallum.
The match, which is sanctioned by the Jamaica Football Federation, Premier League Clubs Association and The Bahamas Football Association, will be aired live on the National Voice 1540 AM, which can be picked up in Jamaica and Central Florida. ZNS TV 13 will also air the game in its entirety tomorrow.
Waterhouse president Ricky Chin said his organisation went the extra mile to contribute to the humanitarian effort, dubbed 'Clash of the Titans' .
"The club's management made every effort to ensure that Waterhouse could capitalise on this golden opportunity," Chin said.
Waterhouse, the two-time national champions who now lie third in the Digicel Premier League, also have some of Jamaica's most talented players and according to chairman Bruce Bicknell, they will not be taking their opponents lightly.
"The players are excited about going to contribute to the Haitian cause, but they will be taking the match seriously because the Haitians have a history of having strong teams," Bicknell said.
      Delegation
      The Waterhouse delegation is:
Players: Richard McCallum, Kelso Cousins, Nicoli Findlayson, Desmond Breakenridge, Roger Rodney, Rohan Amos, Kemar Thomas, Mark Miller, Theo Brown, Weston Forrest, Vincent Earl, Hugh Howell, Kenardo Forbes, Damion Williams, Jermaine Anderson, Andre Clennon, Jonathan Williams, Kevin Lamey.
Officials: Felix Porter (head of delegation), Ricky Chin (president), Bruce Bicknell (chairman), Geoffrey Maxwell (head coach), Anthony Patrick (assistant coach), Keith Salesman (manager) and Glenford Anderson (equipment manager).
