  • A Jamaican's contribution to the 2010 World Cup

Got this info. and thought I should post it so you can enjoy it. Your 'Boyz won't be there but you are still making a contribution. Hope you enjoy the commercial.

Julia Dougall, daughter of Sue and Alex Dougall, inspired by the WC being in Africa, wrote a song and persuaded Akon and Keri Hilson to sing it, then she helped to produce the song, and sold it to Pepsi, who will use her song, "Oh Africa", as the theme song for their Pepsi ads for the World Cup in S. Africa! So when you are watching the World Cup on TV this year, look out for the Pepsi ads. Julia was not involved in the concept or the making of the video to go with the song, but Pepsi did fly her and Akon to Johannesburg for the filming of the video, and there she met the soccer players who are in the video... Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, Ricardo Kaka, Drogba, Frank Lampard, Archevin etc., and she saw them again in L.A. where they finished up the filming.

What's Arshavin doing in that commercial?
"Donovan was excellent. We knew he was a good player, but he really didn't do anything wrong in the whole game and made it difficult for us."

        Hello,

I am very happy to see "Jamaican's contribution" for "the World Cup 2010". Though both are different regions but its about about game its about world cup of football and its about most popular game in the world. So, every one is crazy for the contribution in this mega event and be a part of its history.

You mean a contribution to a Pepsi commercial. If a Jamaican official is appointed to the WC, then that would count as contributing to the tournament.

Sounds good & the original title of the thread regarding Pepsi commercial was misleading.
