  • Rooney facing four weeks out

Wayne Rooney is facing between two and four weeks on the sidelines with a sprained ankle, Sky Sports News understands.
The Manchester United and England talisman had the nation holding their breath as he crumpled in a heap on the turf at the Allianz Arena in the closing seconds of the 2-1 UEFA Champions League defeat by Bayern Munich.
Rooney, who had bagged his 34th goal of an astonishing season with just 64 seconds on the clock in the quarter-final first leg meeting, had to be helped from the field and later left the stadium on crutches.
Replays of the incident showed he had turned his right ankle when he landed awkwardly, causing immediate concern for Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson and England counterpart Fabio Capello.
The fears of the national team appear to be have been alleviated by the initial prognosis, but the Red Devils will be without their attacking ace for a significant spell during the title run-in.
Ferguson's men, who head the Premier League by one point from Chelsea, play host to their title rivals at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime in what could well prove to be a pivotal moment in the season.
The return leg of their European showdown with Bayern follows next Wednesday where United know they must score if they are to progress to the semi-finals of the competition.
Rooney can expect to miss the trip to Blackburn on 11th April and may also struggle to be involved in the Manchester derby with City at Eastlands the following weekend and the home meeting with Spurs on 24th April.
That would leave the 24-year-old with just the Premier League encounters against Sunderland and Stoke to regain match sharpness in domestic action before attention turns to England's World Cup bid in South Africa.

Well now it is a one man show as there is only one fit striker.

A contract was offered to Tevez and he decided to go to the Wastelands.

His demands were not met, besides if they had offered $1 by way of a contract would it be his fault for no longer playing at Man U?
Wouldn't mind if Tevez was still here, wouldn't mind if Man U did what it took so he was still here.

Lets put this foolishness to bed!

                          Tevez rejects United offer

Manchester United have confirmed striker Carlos Tevez will not be playing for the club next season following the conclusion of his two-year loan.
The Argentina international was a fans' favourite during his time at Old Trafford, however, he has rejected the chance to sign a long-term deal with The Red Devils.
United had agreed to pay the £25.5million fee required to secure the 25-year-old's services permanently and offered the striker a lucrative five-year contract.
However, despite the prospect of becoming one of the club's highest paid players it has now been revealed that he no longer wished to play for the Premier League champions.
Tevez found regular first-team football especially hard to come by last season following the expensive acquisition of Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham and that has been attributed as one of the reasons behind his decision.
Sky Sports News understands that Manchester City and Chelsea are the only two clubs in the running to sign Tevez, meaning Liverpool will not be landing the striker.
                          Contract rejected

"Following contact received from Carlos Tevez's advisors last night, in advance of the deadline the club set for concluding negotiations, Manchester United announces that Carlos will not be signing a new contract with the club," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The club agreed to pay the option price of £25.5m and offered Carlos a five-year contract which would have made him one of its highest paid players.
"Disappointingly however, his advisors informed the club that, despite the success he has enjoyed during one of the Club's most successful periods, he does not wish to continue playing for Manchester United.
"The club would like to thank Carlos for his services over the last two seasons and wishes him good luck for the future."

Really? I read where he would have been one of the best paid players at the club. You're not the only MU fan that wanted Tevez to stay. However, is not everybody consider themself worthy.

Do I have to ask the question again??? I asked WHEN did they offer the contract. I am not disputing that one was offered.

I recollect that by the time you jokers came around to making an offer he had already begun if not concluded negotiations with ManC.
