<P class=StoryText align=justify>MONTEGO BAY - Wadadah's gallant fight back from 2-0 down at half time against Seba United in the Montego Bay derby fell just short on Sunday night at Jarrett Park as the teams settled for a pulsating 2-2 draw in their Wray & Nephew National Premier League (NPL) second round game.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Seba United in their second game under the guidance of Theodore Whitmore, jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead thanks to Ricardo Geddes, overlapping from his new defensive position, and Glenroy Miller. Two spectacular overhead kicks by Raphael Palmer and Orville Campbell, however, pulled Wadadah level.<P class=StoryText align=justify>The draw did little for their positions in the points tables as they remained tied on 14 points just above the relegation zone, separated by goal-difference. A win for either team would have taken them ahead of Village United who had drawn against August Town earlier in the day.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Staring a big loss and embarrassment squarely in the face, Wadadah's coach Anthony 'Follies' Williams "took the bull by the horns and made some adjustments at half-time", and could have won their third straight game in this heated rivalry.
Seba's assistant coach Heron Grey admitted his team did not react properly to Wadadah's adjustments and that two forced changes also messed up their game plan.<P class=StoryText align=justify>The first change came in bizarre fashion as just before the start of the second half, Miller started vomiting on the field and was later diagnosed by the team doctor Garfield Campbell as suffering from Gastritis. Left back Stephen Forrest, one of three players who were introduced in new positions by Whitmore and who retained their places, was also pulled late in the game.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Williams told reporters after the game that his team approached the game as if they were not aware that they were going into a derby game and as such he was not surprised by the deficit at half time.
"Let me tell you something, this team is not aware of how good they are. If we train and play well, we can beat any team in this league on any given day," Williams said.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Regular sweeper Lesseps Love had not shown up for the game he said and "so there was no one to stabilise the back line. We tried to juggle the formation but it seems we made the wrong choice by putting Raphael Palmer at that position", which he said resulted in the defence being in "disarray".<P class=StoryText align=justify>The adjustments, he said, were made during the break where Rohan Reid was pulled from his attacking midfield position and swapped with Palmer.
"Football is played in two halves. Seba won the first half and we took the second half, which we could have won, by three goals," Williams pointed out.<P class=StoryText align=justify>After his successful transition from an attacking player to defence when Seba were short handed a week earlier, Geddes was kept in that position this week, but showed he had not lost any of his attacking skills when he sent the team in the lead after just eight minutes.<P class=StoryText align=justify>The former William Knibb Memorial player was left unmarked at the far post and headed home a corner through goalkeeper Gavine Barrett's arms.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Miller made it 2-0 eight minutes later when he gave Barrett no chance with a powerful shot that brushed the goalkeeper's hands on its way to the lower left hand corner of the goal.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Given a freer role at the start of the second half, Palmer revived Wadadah's hopes with an over head kick in the 56th minute to pull one back for his team.
