more than the other team FIGHTING for that 4th spot. They're on 51 points, 4 less that Spurs who played only 30 games, 1 more point that Villa who played 29 games, 1 point more than Man City who played only 28 games.

Wait suh with Man City now leading 2-0 they should be on 53 points. Here's to Liverpool not even making the Europa League next season.

Rafa Benitez has pinned Liverpool's hopes of claiming a top four finish on the goalscoring exploits of Fernando Torres.
The Reds suffered their 10th league defeat of the season on Sunday as leaders Manchester United claimed a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford to put Benitez's guarantee of UEFA Champions League football next season under serious threat.
The Anfield outfit now trail both Tottenham and Manchester City in the race for fourth place, while the Merseysiders could find themselves down in seventh position by Wednesday evening with Aston Villa hosting Sunderland in one of their games in hand over the Reds.
But Benitez believes Torres, who opened the scoring at the Theatre of Dreams with a text-book header to score his 17th of the campaign, can fire Liverpool into Europe's elite tournament after scoring seven goals in his last three games.
          Big names

"Sometimes when you talk about big names, top-class players, you are expecting something from them when the team is not doing well," said the Reds boss, who is hoping the likes of Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Jose Reina will also lead by example in the coming weeks.
"You expect them to say: 'It's okay, follow me'.
"We have had this conversation with Fernando and the rest of the team.
"It was something we were expecting from Torres and he was really good the other day."
Benitez was not overly concerned by Torres' display of petulance against United but he has told the Spanish international striker to concentrate on causing problems for opponents and not allow himself to be distracted by their spoiling tactics.

          Focus

"Fernando knows he has to focus a little bit more," said Benitez.
"We were talking about this at half-time (against United) so that is something that will be better for him and better for the team.
"He can score more goals by concentrating on football.
"All strikers, especially top-class strikers, they are marked a little bit more closely than others and that is normal.
"It is not easy every game. People don't understand when you are a player on the pitch and you are fighting and sometimes you cannot understand these things."
Left-back is another area of concern for Benitez with Emiliano Insua currently looking like he is feeling the effects of what has been a testing season.
The manager believes Fabio Aurelio is probably a fortnight away from a comeback after a thigh injury sustained almost a month ago, which means 21-year-old Insua will continue.
However, Benitez stressed that the Argentinian, who has played all-but two top-flight matches this season, needed more support from his team-mates.
"It is not just one situation where you can point to someone," he added.
"The team has to take care of the situation. We have to share the responsibility."
