Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes this year's Premiership battle has become "a two-horse race".

The Red Devils moved nine points clear of Chelsea - who had two games in hand prior to Sunday's showdown with Arsenal - following Saturday's 3-1 derby success over Manchester City.

And with Chelsea enjoying a comfortable cushion over third-placed Portsmouth, the United chief believes the Premiership trophy is heading to either Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge.

"Arsenal have come to form a bit now but at the moment it's looking like a two-horse race and I think either us or Chelsea will win it," he told Inside United magazine.

"At the moment we're doing really well and you've got to expect with Chelsea's consistency that they'll be there at the end of the season.

"Our good form is keeping us up there but we've just got to hope that when it comes to March and April our history and our record in these times over the years will help us because we can do well then.

"That would give us a really outstanding chance."<P align=left><BR clear=all>JUST THE TWO OF THEM?

Meanwhile, former United midfielder David Beckham will return to Old Trafford in March to take part in a charity game.

The Real Madrid ace will play for a European All-Stars XI against United to celebrate 50 years of European competition for the Red Devils.
