Location: Bethesda, Maryland
Club: DC United

I tried to survey non-CONCACAF leagues to find CONCACAF players. I reviewed the following club leagues - Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, England (4 levels), Estonia, Finland, France (3 levels), Germany (3 levels), Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy (3 levels), Japan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands (2 levels), Norway (2 levels), Peru, Poland, Portugal (2 levels), Romania, Russia (2 levels), Scotland (2 levels), Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (2 levels), Sweden (2 levels), Switzerland (2 levels), Turkey, Ukraine and Uruguay.

This suvey showed the following number of players per country:

United States – 53;
Canada – 47;
Jamaica – 30;
T&T – 18;
Costa Rica – 13;
Mexico – 12;
Netherlands Antilles – 9;
Honduras – 5;
Panama – 5;
Surinam – 4;
Dominican Republic - 3;
Guyana - 2;
Haiti -2;
Barbados – 2;
Grenada -1;
Guatemala – 1; and
St. Vincent – 1.

The most dramatic change has been the large increase of Mexicans moving to Europe, undoubtedly as a result of World Cup 2006.

The detailed breakdown is as follows.
