  • Donovan starts for Everton....watch the Gunners teach him

Everton's on-loan midfielder Landon Donovan: "There'll be an adjustment period - but I think I'll be fine. The excitement's been building and now I just want to get on the pitch and play."

Arsenal make six changes from the side that beat West Ham in the FA Cup, with Manuel Amunia, Armand Traore, Denilson, Abou Diaby, Samir Nasri and Andrey Arshavin all returning. Everton hand United States international Landon Donovan his debut, while striker Louis Saha starts after overcoming a hamstring problem.

Everton goal: Landon Donovan takes his first corner for Everton - and it's a beauty. No one tracks Leon Osman's run and the midfielder powers in a header, which Denilson on the line can do nothing about.

              From BBC:
And with Arsene Wenger's side missing Alexander Song, they struggled to impose themselves in midfield allowing Everton debutant Landon Donovan, in particular, to take advantage.

The American gave Gunners left-back Armand Traore a torrid time throughout, and it was from his corner that Everton opened the scoring

"Donovan was excellent. We knew he was a good player, but he really didn't do anything wrong in the whole game and made it difficult for us."
