  • It is amazing how much importance the WFA AGM has taken on

Seems the entire local football world is centred on Westmoreland and for good reasons. With Everton coming out publicly to say if his slate win they will back Burrell next season, it means he cant afford to lose now.

Hanover is the other overtly pro-Burrell FA in the west as St James has stated publicly they are staying out of the politics and will be supporting whoever is in the chair at St Lucia Crescent right now and will re-evaluate things when time comes for the Congress next year.

Trelawny voted Boxhill the last three times but is seen as on the fence now.

If the Francis/Downswell tewam wins tonight it would be a big swing for Boxhill as no doubt Everton would be forced out of the Western Con fed chairmanship by next week and Hanover would lose its grip on things.

I find it interesting that Hanover the most moribound (sic?) FA in the entire island with absolutely no growth in the past 11 years since Lorraine Scringer took over, should be dictating what goes on in the western confederation.
Solidarity is not a matter of well wishing, but is sharing the very same fate whether in victory or in death.

All it means is the local Parish FA meetings are being run on national JFF politics.

Leaders are being voted in on the basis of who they shall support come next JFF Congress. Not a bad thing!

Boxhill and Burrell must get their manifestos in order and have the locals tailor theirs to fit within that/their national vision.

The entire cass-cass (some would say?) or discussion (others would term it?) on the type of leadship our football needs to propel us rapidly onwards is center stage.

btw - Who did the lastSt. James FA leadership support - Boxhill or Burrell? ...and, who shall the new St. James FA support - Boxhill or Burrell?

It appears to me Boxhill has got a jump start on Burrell. The Westmoreland challenger appears to have a manifesto that in some ways mirrors Boxhill's last manifesto...right?
