Arsene Wenger has ruled out a January move for Real Madrid misfit Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Arsenal will be in the market for a new striker once the transfer window re-opens next month after a string of injuries to their attacking options.
Robin van Persie is a long-term absentee, while Nicklas Bendtner and Eduardo are currently nursing injuries leaving Wenger short of firepower.
Exit: Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to leave Real Madrid
Van Nistelrooy is being offered round the Premier League by Real who are eager to offload the former Manchester United star in January.
However, Van Nistelrooy can scratch off the Emirates as one of his possible destinations after Wenger admitted a move for the Holland striker would be impossible due to a number of bust-ups with the 33-year-old during his time at Old Trafford.
Wenger could not bring himself to say Van Nistelrooy's name after one flare-up, while his bust-up with Martin Keown after being accused of cheating by the ex-England defender lives long in the memory.
Wenger said: 'It would not be the best of starts, bearing in mind our past relationship.
'You have my number - you can text me all the names you find.'
