Television replays showed there was no contact between Boro keeper Mark Schwarzer and Ronaldo when the winger won United a 19th-minute penalty.

"Ronaldo has a history of it," Southgate told the News of the World.

"Our keeper has done everything to get out of the way, but the lad has gone down once again."

Asked if he felt cheated by Ronaldo, Southgate said: " Yes - it's as simple as that. I cannot see it was a penalty for love nor money.

"He did it again afterwards with a free-kick against George Boateng."

After watching television replays, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said the penalty was justified.

"Schwarzer is trying to avoid it, but would Ronaldo have scored? I think he would, but anyway it was a penalty kick."

It is not the first time Ronaldo's sportmanship has been questioned.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard labelled the winger "a disgrace" for his part in Wayne Rooney's sending-off at the World Cup.

Gerrard was furious when Ronaldo got involved after Rooney appeared to stamp on Portugal defender Ricardo Carvalho.

"Sadly a dark side stains Cristiano Ronaldo's game," wrote Gerrard in his autobiography. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Manu a tief? Really now? Ronaldo evaded the keeper and had an open goal? Why dive? If you noticed while he was going down he still tried to score the goal?

Where you come from a call manu tief? When unuh had unuh unbeaten run, Robert Pires pulled offmany cons on the ref. Yuh figet about a certain Patrick Viera? This season, look back at a penalty Van Persie won against Hamburg, ****, look back at your penalties this weekend.

When such calls are made against Manu, anybody say anything? Well then, I don't want to hear it. The freekick that Celtic scored on Manu, where was the foul? Wait .. who committed the foul? Yet after the game I didn't see Fergie wanting to fight Strachan. Against Reading they received a penalty that would be called ball to hand against the Rent Boys, I didn't see Fergie or anybody complain. When John Terry held down Vidic, to prevent him from going up, so that his teammate could get the header, yuh never say anything. In the Blackburn game, Saha and Scholes were fouled in the box, and players got a card for protesting.

Calls guh against Manu, suh when any calls go Manu's way ..... know what ... yuh have the Rent Boys Sunday, focus pon them.
