    Great goal by Falloon just before halftime. He headed in a corner kick.

    This is the second leg of the World Cup qualifying playoff. The first leg in Bahrain ended in a 0-0 draw.

    New Zealand Hangs On For 1-0 Win And Trip To South Africa

    New Zealand hung on for a 1-0 win (1-0 aggregate) and qualified for the World Cup.

      FIFA had changed the qualifying rules from the match up between an Asian team vs the 4th best Concacaf team in 2006, to make it easier for another team from Asia to qualify, and Bahrain flopped again versus the joker Oceania winner.

          From what I understand the playoff matchups between Concacaf/Asia/Concacaf/Conmebol rotates every qualifying cycle. The playoffs in 2013 will be contested between Concacaf/Asia again.
