Barcelona and Real Madrid were both successful, Rangers closed the gap on Celtic while Lyon and Marseille played out a remarkable 5-5 draw.
Inter Milan dropped points in Italy, Bayer Leverkusen are now three points clear at the top in Germany while FC Twente made it eight consecutive wins in Holland.
    Primera Division

Leading duo Barcelona and Real Madrid were both victorious at the weekend. Table-toppers Barca marched to a 4-2 win over Mallorca as Pedro bagged a brace for Pep Guardiola's men.
But it was not so easy going for Real, who had Sergio Ramos sent off, as late strikes from Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero gave them a fright in a 3-2 success over Atletico. Valencia also maintained their fine form while Sevilla edged out struggling Villarreal.

    SPL

Celtic dropped points to allow Rangers to close the gap to two points at the summit. Gers were 2-1 victors against St Mirren on Saturday to put pressure on their Old Firm rivals, who played 24 hours later.
And the Hoops were denied victory in their fixture at Falkirk as a thrilling encounter ended in a 3-3 draw thanks to Mark Stewart's late goal. Elsewhere, Dundee United downed Kilmarnock while Hamilton and Motherwell played out a cracking 2-2 stalemate.

    Serie A

Inter Milan were denied a sixth straight win as Roma battled for a 1-1 draw at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. The result means Juventus are now five points behind the leaders in the table after their enthralling 5-2 win at Atalanta.
AC Milan continued their resurgence with a 2-1 victory over Lazio, thanks to goals from Thiago Silva and Alexandre Pato, while Juan Manuel Vargas' late goal ensured Fiorentina defeated Udinese.

    Ligue 1

Lyon and Marseille played out a truly remarkable 10-goal thriller at Stade Gerland. The clash between the two French giants ended in a 5-5 draw after both Michel Bastos and Stephane Mbia netted late goals in a thrilling finale.
Table-toppers Bordeaux slumped to a shock 2-0 defeat against Lille, which means they have now lost three of their last five matches, but Auxerre maintained their superb form as they saw off Le Mans to make it six wins on the spin.

    Bundesliga

Bayer Leverkusen climbed three points clear at the top of the standings after they cruised to a 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. Second-placed Werder Bremen could only draw in their outing versus Borussia Dortmund.
Hamburg were also denied three points in their fixture with Hannover after the home side bagged a late leveller. Wolfsburg were triumphant at TSG Hoffenheim while Bayern Munich and Schalke played out a 1-1 stalemate.

    Eredivisie
Steve McClaren's FC Twente notched an eighth straight win in Holland to keep them top of the table. FC Twente's Bryan Ruiz scored the only goal of the game at Arke Stadion to defeat Ajax.
Elsewhere, second-placed PSV Eindhoven were emphatic 5-1 winners against ADO Den Haag, who had two players sent off, as Ola Toivonen scored four goals, AZ Alkmaar drew with Feyenoord while struggling RKC notched a second win of the season.

    <H5>Best of the rest

OB Odense continue to lead the way in Denmark after they edged out Silkeborg, Anderlecht leapfrogged Club Brugge in Belgium, Portuguese leaders Braga suffered a 1-0 loss, AIK Solna extended their lead at the summit in Sweden while Young Boys slipped up against Sion in Switzerland.

I was convinced that AC Milan would have axed Leanardo already. Some how he has got the team winning.
