Andy Williams will be on ESPN 2 tonight at 8 pm eastern. His team Real Salt Lake will take on the Columbus Crew in the 2nd leg of the first round of the playoffs.
Right now his team is ahead on aggregate 1-0. To be honest my gut tells me that his team has no chance in winning this series even with the lead. Their road record is horrific. They have 2 wins 11 losses and 2 draws on the road. Add into the fact that they are playing the best team in the league it is pure trouble for them tonight. Fingers crossed that they can pull off the unthinkable.
On a side note Donovan Ricketts was finalist for the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Award. He was in the running with Kasey Keller and Zach Thornton. Thornton won the award last night. In either case it is nice to see Donovan being recognized for his good work even if he did not come out ahead.
On another side note Jeff Cunningham is a finalist for the Player of the Year Award to add to his Golden Boot one. He is going up against Shalrie Joseph and Landon Donovan. I go with my heart I am pulling for Jeff but really I think Shalrie was hands down the best player all season. He lifted that New England team on his back and dragged them kicking and screaming to the playoffs. - T.K.
