SAM ALLARDYCE is hoping to name an unchanged side for the journey to Premier League new boys Reading on Saturday.

The Wanderers boss was pleased with his side's second-half performance against Chelsea on Wednesday evening, despite picking up a fourth defeat in six games, and has called for more of them same when they visit the Madejski Stadium.

"Reading are doing terrifically well at the moment, especially at home," acknowledged Allardyce.

"They have got themselves in the top-half with a good string of wins. It will be a difficult place for us to play and we'll have our work cut out. We've got to make sure that we match the sort of performance that we put together during the second-half of the game against Chelsea on Wednesday. If we do that it will give us the opportunity to beat Reading. I've always said that playing your best against an Arsenal or a Chelsea can't always get you something - as we saw on Wednesday. We've got to make sure that we get to that sort of level.

"We've had two big back-to-back games against Arsenal and Chelsea and we are a little unfortunate because Reading don't have a game in midweek so we'll be a little bit more fatigued than them. It will be a tough match - just as tough as Chelsea and Arsenal.

"We've not played badly in the last five or six (games) but unfortunately our points total is not very good. That's really disappointing because the performances have been there but the points are missing. It's all about getting points on the board and one point against Chelsea would have been so precious and so important for us going to Reading. But that is not the case and we've got to try and get something out of the game."
