FC Dallas striker Jeff Cunningham has claimed the 2009 MLS Golden Boot award.

The 33-year old finished the regular season on 17 goals, one ahead of Colorado Rapids striker Conor Casey.

Cunningham becomes the fifth player to win the award twice joining New England Revolution’s Taylor Twellman, Guatemala international Carlos Ruiz, current Crystal Palace striker Stern John and former USA international Roy Lassiter.

His 17-goal total surpassed his previous career-high of 16 goals, which he accomplished twice - with Real Salt Lake in 2006 and the Columbus Crew in 2002. Cunningham’s 16-goal campaign in 2006 earned him his first Golden Boot award.

Cunningham is second all-time on the career goal-scoring list with 121 regular season goals, just 10 behind D.C. United forward Jaime Moreno.

English Championship club Reading FC have recently been linked with Cunningham and reports suggest they could make a move for him in the January transfer window.

True about Ricketts. Now we can see why he was so highly rated by Bradford. However, according to Warlord's logics, he can't be of any good because he did not play in the BPL nor has he won any titles. LA galaxy is a small team so we can't give him any ratings. In his recent games for Jamaica, he has shown a marked improvement and has come off my Eediat List.

I actually think he's a good GK but with the right environment and his potential couldve been alot better overall in his career if he was given the right opportunity.

In regards to BPL football, it goes without saying that the level is alot higher than that of MLS. Its certainly more physical and played at a faster pace.

Will not be surprised if Cunningham gets called for the WC squad. 'Specially having Davis out.

Saw Johnson on Fulham bench last week. Johnson too should factor in somewhere.

Dempsey ran towards him after he scored against Manchester city.

The US senior squad plays Slovakia on Nov. 14 and then Denmark on Nov. 18th.

Das why i think Coach Bradley might factor in Cunningham et al.
