Jack's squabble with those who would want to take his place and get their hands on some of 'the money' is not for us to become involved. It is for those who have the disputes to seek through the appropriate legitimate channels the redress they think they are entitled.

No other president in Concacaf's history got this region an extra WC berth and a .5 spot. Prior to Warner becoming Concacaf president in '90 there was a corrupt mexican in charge who did absolutely nothing for CFU and Concacaf football. Warner was responsible for initiatiating the Gold Cup tournament in '91, then he was instrumental in bringing tha World Cup to the US in '94. He initiated women's football in the region, undertaken several goal projects throughout Concacaf and invested heavily on football development in the region which has enabled more Concacaf players to play in European leagues than ever before in this region's history. There's so much more he's done.

Does he have a stronghold in CFU? I do think so. Warner has been involved in football alot longer than we've all been here on this board period.

So we got a referee or two and some linesmen in the WC.

We repelled a European assault (this is after the fact as JW was already big then)

We have people on committees

yad yad yada...

HOW HAS THIS BENEFITTED US?

Oh yes we have an extra place and a half (CONCACAF i.e.) in WC.

My problem is that JW has made and created for HIMSELF primarily, a dictatorial position of power and NOT created a position of power that we are benefitting from.
And every so often he wants to lament about how much money HE is putting into football so the masses must kowtow to his wishes or the money will dry up... it's a DICTATORSHIP Karl!

I find it interesting that HL does not live in T&T, maybe never been there even on a cruise ship yet he is trying to argue with people who live there about this crooked Jack Warner character....and he cant see the irony of his idiocy.

Karl you ever stop to think that he is doing what he said he would do and is being compensated very well for doing it? So why are you trying to big him up for doing his job in the first place?

Rubbish, as the man says each federation have one vote and so every body equal in FIFA as far as voting is concerned..what Jack did was give SEPtic Blatter and the FIFA gang an enforcer who could get the 30-odd votes under one umbrella while dispensing out crumbs off the FIFA table

yad yad yada = Many initiatives in many of our Caribbean countries. Warner can only supply the support structures. Do not blame him if the locals fall down on the job.

...and the few referees you scorn?
Well they it must be who bring what they have learnt back to their countries and the wider CFU area and improve the refereeing and thus the football;

...and the members who sit on the various CONCACAF and FIFA committees?

They it must be who bring back what they have learnt to their countries and the wider CFU and improve the administration of the football
helping to propel greater deveolpment of the game.

How can you blame Jack for your lament about progress, when Jack took the 'horse to water'? ...and is still talking the horse to water, so to speak?

I blame those in the islands for not jumping on the 'contacts' Jack has thrown in their laps. It is the locals in each island who must get up off their backsides and use what has been presented to them.

Damn it, Peter R - You want Jack to lead us to water and then force us to drink? ...or put another way - Jack puts the goodies before us on a platter, we keep fooling around and not eating...so we blame Jack for not 'force feeding' us?

That cannot fly!

Let us look at Ja. Who can blame Warner for the type work done by the schools, colleges, clubs, the Parishes, CONFEDERATIONS and the national teams?

So it is in all of the other islands. Don't blame Warner for the failings of the 'boots on the ground'! They must walk...then run to success!
Jamaica
Crenston Boxhill survived several threats from FIFA after replacing Captain Horace Burrell at the helm of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF). Burrell, a close friend of Warner, wanted his post back and Boxhill could not stomach any more aggravation.
Boxhill: “The current administration has faced the most consistent effort of undermining (as opposed to) any previous administration and it does occupy my mind that if it is going to continue, how realistic it will be to build on the momentum, if at every step of the way one has to be looking over one’s shoulders.”
Let us for the moment accept what is said as true - Is it any different than someone starting a business having to compete to build and grow in the business environment?

Are there not competing parties/entities and the need of the new boy on the block to focus on 'doing' and building regardless of the obstacles and the current (business) climate?

Boxhill says it all, he could not handle the environment in which he found himself. He could not build local or foreign alliances to ensure his survival and the development of our football. He was in a business operating in an environment where his plan and execution was found wanting!

End of story!

If someone comes along better than Burrell at planning and executiing...make no bones about it Burrell will be OUT! just the way of the world!
