"I did not see the incident" - Arsene Wenger's Top 10 myopic moments

Arsene Wenger has mocked Mark Hughes for his defence of Emmanuel Adebayor following the Manchester City forward's stamp on Robin van Persie.
"You ask 100 people, 99 will say it’s very bad and the 100th will be Mark Hughes," mocked the Arsenal boss after the incident at Eastlands on Saturday.
That's a bit rich, you might be thinking (if you're not an Arsenal fan, that is) coming from a manager notorious for his short-sightedness regarding his own team's disciplinary shortcomings.
So MirrorFootball has compiled a list of Arsene's most infamous myopic moments – the 10 incidents when the Frenchman's 20/20 vision mysteriously deserted him…
    10) Following the altercation between Emmanuel Adebayor and Nicklas Bendtner in the League Cup tie against Spurs, January 2008
"I did not know anything about it. I didn't see it."
    9) Following a seemingly offside goal from Robin van Persie against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, November 2008
"I do not want to score offside goals but I didn't see that, frankly."
    8) Following Sol Campbell's foul on Wayne Rooney which led to a penalty against Manchester United, October 2004
"I think we were a little bit robbed. I didn't think there was any contact at all."
    7) Following the infamous Pizzagate incident after the same game, October 2004
"I don't know about food throwing. I did not see if something was thrown – you'll have to ask someone else, because I don't know."
    6) Following the alleged spitting incident involving Cesc Fabregas at the end of the FA Cup tie against Hull, March 2009
"I know nothing about that at all. I'm sorry, I can't speak about something I haven't seen."
    5) Following Emmanuel Eboue's sending off for two yellow cards against Tottenham, February 2009
"The first yellow card was very harsh. I didn't see the second one."
    4) Following Sol Campbell's serious foul on Eric Djemba-Djemba of Manchester United in the Community Shield, August 2003
    "I didn't see Sol's challenge."
    3) Following an incident against West Ham when Dennis Bergkamp appeared to strike Lee Bowyer in the face, January 2003
"It did not look intentional. Dennis caught him with the elbow but the player ran into him."
    2) Following claims that Ashley Cole pushed Nicolas Anelka during a match against Manchester City, February 2004
"I didn't see that Ashley pushed him in the face. If the replays show it, then it's the referee's problem."
    1) Following newspaper photos depicting Arsenal captain William Gallas smoking a cigarette in a nightclub, October 2008
    "I didn't see the picture."

Are they talking about the cynical challenge from Van Persie that had Ade spinning in the air to avoid being uprooted? Maybe Ade needs to learn how to defy gravity. Arsenal and their fans are just sore losers plain and simple

I just saw the stomp. I say Ade is lucky he got a 3 match suspension. That sort of thing should carry a much graver punishment in my view!

... no BT. The stomp he should be suspended for. It is clear what he was doing. However, to punish him for his celebration is comical.

Maybe he did know what he was doing, however, the tackle was one which leaves Ade's intentions in doubt. When he came down he was spinning in the air. That could be his defence.

Was he spinning in the air when he came down? Did Van Persie's challenge have anything to do with the way Ade came back down to the ground?

Reckless and I hope he got carded for it. But such challenges are a part of the game and happen on every football field every single day of the year. The 2 cannot and should not be compared!

Please BT, not even a drunk would buy that defense.

He was not carded. Ade had to jump to avoid the initial tackle. While in the air Van Persie again tried to take him out and Ade had to move his leg while in the air to avoid being cleaned up. That is what caused the awkward landing.

.. what you're saying makes it worse as to retaliate in football is a no no.

It is fact. Ade jumped to avoid the initial tackle than had to adjust in midair after Van Persie again attempted to clean him up. That is not in debate.

.. not true BT. He intentionally kicked the youth.
