Diego Maradona's collection of world class players have been unimpressive in the current qualification campaign losing again last night 1-0 away to Paraguay. Paraguay is now the 11th team to qualify for SA2010.

If dunderhead Maradona remains, and they don't qualify, his claim to being the greatest player ever (i.e. greater than pele ) will be a footnote to the negative sentiment and frustration he will be subjected to by his countrymen. If I were him, I'd quit now and lay low and maybe his people won't burn him at the stake. At some point, he has to realise that 4 loses in the last 5 is totally unacceptable. What a flop!

Well...in some cases, OFF FIELD antics makes a HUGE difference ON THE FIELD. For example, some managers (who shall remain nameless), can get away with intimidating referees, paying teenagers parents, tapping up north london rival teams, lying to commissions and the press etc. etc. and that makes all the difference in the world come game day

However, in Maradona's case, he's just useless. He should resign and give the team a chance.

mek dem gwan...the closest argentina gwine get to the world cup is watching Brazil raise it pon TV. And resigning would be the right thing to do, but far from me to expect maradona to do the right thing.
