Liverpool forward Ryan Babel has sensationally begged manager Rafael Benitez to let him leave the Merseyside club.
The Dutch star has stunned Liverpool by demanding a loan move to Ajax unless he is granted more playing time at the club.
In a recent interview, Babel accused the club of making broken promises, and has insisted he will leave Merseyside if he is resigned to the bench again this season.
"A lot of things have been promised to me, but haven't been fulfilled," the 22-year-old said.
"They told me I would get mote playing time and opportunities. But after the first defeat it was only me who was victimised, who lost his place."
After a poor performance in the Reds Premier League opening defeat away to Tottenham, Babel made little impact as a sub in the clubs home defeat to Aston Villa and was not included on the bench during the sides most recent win against Bolton.
Now Babel - who has scored just seven times in 59 league appearances since signing from Ajax for 11.5 million in 2007 - fears he may miss out on a place in Holland's World Cup squad unless he gets a chance to prove himself.

"I think half a season at Ajax with a view to the World Cup wouldn't be a bad idea.
"Loaning me out was not an option ( this summer). Now we have agreed to review the situation in January."
But Reds boss Benitez has called on Babel to start showing Liverpool what he is made of, with the Spaniard telling reporters:
"Ryan has something to give us this time and he knows it.
"He will have opportunities to prove himself with so many games coming up, but it is important he has the right mentality."
