TOTTENHAM have confirmed the deadline day signing of Niko Kranjcar from Portsmouth.
The 25-year-old Croatian midfielder joins Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch as players Spurs have signed from Pompey since January.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: "I'm really delighted. I signed Niko for Portsmouth. He's a fantastic player.
"I've already got two fantastic Croatian players, Luka Modric and Vedran Corluka, who can help him settle in."
In the short-term Kranjcar is expected to slot into the gap left by Modric, who faces a spell on the sidelines with a broken leg.
Redknapp was also understood to be interested in a move for goalkeeper David James.
But Fratton Park chief executive Peter Storrie said: "There was a lot of talk about David but we had no direct offers."Comment
