  • Team for St Kitts match

When the Reggae Boyz depart the island on Friday for a friendly international against St Kitts and Nevis in that Eastern Caribbean country there will be three newcomers to the squad.

Twenty-six year-old Seba United midfielder Deshaun Woolery, 22-year-old Boys’ Town forward Peter Keyes and another 22-year-old, Sporting Central defender, Linval Lewis will travel with the national team for the first time and hopefully make their debut. Woolery, who can operate in the centre of the midfield or down the entire left-side of the field, was part of Cornwall College’s 2001 schoolboy triple championship team under the guidance of Dr Dean Weatherly, while Lewis was a solid campaigner for Clarendon College. Keyes made his name at the schoolboy level for Vauxhall.

The 18-man Reggae Boyz squad also sees the return to international duty of Reno midfielder Evan Taylor who last represented the country just under a year ago against Honduras in a World Cup qualifier. Sporting Central’s Je-Vaughn Watson who had his last game at that time as well is also a member of the party.

Portmore United’s Ricardo Cousins who has not represented the country internationally since November 2008 has been given another opportunity to show his pedigree.

After an impressive return to international competition, St George’s defender Jermaine Taylor has been retained to lead the defensive line. Dicoy Williams of Harbour View following a steady debut against Ecuador should earn his second cap.

Accompanying the squad will be Head of Delegation Patrick Malcolm, Head Coach Theodore Whitmore, Assistant Coach Bradley Stewart, Manager Howard Bell, Dr Carlton Fraser, Team Physician and Equipment Manager Norman Stone.

Squad: Dwayne Miller (Harbour View), Shawn Sawyers (Portmore United), Jermaine Taylor (St George’s), Linval Lewis (Sporting Central), Ricardo Cousins (Portmore United), Oraine Simpson (Tivoli Gardens), Deshaun Woolery (Seba), Evan Taylor (Reno), Michael Campbell (Boys’ Town), Peter Keyes (Boys’ Town), Bryan Bayliss (Portmore United), Keammar Daley (Tivoli Gardens), Lovel Palmer (Harbour View), Je-Vaughn Watson (Sporting Central), Devon Hodges (Rivoli), Andre Campbell (Portmore), Dicoy Williams (Harbour View) and Richard Edwards (Harbour View).

I haven't heard Woolery's name in ages. He was a very good player, who I expected to be in the senior team long before this.
