Neil Warnock remains confident the deal to bring Claude Davis to Crystal Palace will go through.
The Eagles have agreed personal terms with the former Derby defender but are still awaiting a new work permit before he can become a registered player.
Warnock is nevertheless optimistic of securing the Jamaican's services in the near future.
"We are hoping to tie Claude Davis up but we have to get a work permit for him, a new one, and are in the process of doing that," Warnock told the Croydon Guardian.
"We've applied through the right places, we're just waiting to get a date for the hearing at the moment."
Moses and Clyne
Victor Moses and Nathaniel Clyne have both been linked with moves away from Selhurst Park but Warnock expects them to stay.
Moses, 18, broke into the Palace team at the age of just 16 and has since attracted the interest of several Premier League clubs while 18-year-old Clyne made his debut for the Eagles last October.
Warnock told the News Shopper: "I am just rubbing my hands together that we haven't got a concrete offer on the table and they are both available to play, so if we don't talk about them too much, we might be able to keep them for a while.
"I would be very surprised if in the next two years they don't both go to a top four club in the Premier League, both of them."
