    Kenny Cooper signs with 1860 Munich

    Cooper transfers to TSV 1860 Munich

    FC Dallas announced Friday that forward Kenny Cooper has been transferred to German second division side TSV 1860 Munich pending a medical examination. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not announced.

    "Kenny has been an outstanding player for us over the last four seasons as well as a tremendous ambassador for FC Dallas in his time with the club, and we wish him the best in Munich," said general manager Michael Hitchcock in a press release. "Kenny indicated to us that he wanted to return to Europe when his contract expired next year. The timing of this transfer allows Kenny to continue his career overseas while providing our club with valuable resources for new acquisitions."

    I have learned to like Cooper--just as i have become a big fan of Brian Ching.

    The German system will make him a more potent striker; much to the peril of CONCACAF countries.

          More of a target man. Someone who plays uptop must of the time. Don't drop back in defense or midfield. Stand up and hold him leather, play other in the game and draw shot when he gets the chance. Also fight fi him ball in the final third.

                I think you have it completely backwards, Assasin.

                Ching plays like much more of a target man than Cooper. He is much better in the air and playing with his back to goal.

                In fact, the main complaint with Cooper is that he doesn't play like someone with his 6'3" 200+lb. body should be playing. He always tends to drift out to the wings and dribble at people, rather than staying in the box like a center forward should. But when it comes to pure finishing skills Cooper is better than Ching.

                Hopefully his time in Germany will help him add some more "target man" elements to his game.

                  Well he is a bigger target and finish better. Yes he may drift a little put Ching come back a little too deep sometimes as well. I would rather have Cooper up there to play with Donovan and the youngster Altidore.
