Does the US understand the game of football (soccer in the US) more than Ja? I would say yes because the game has many facets. Professionalism and organization is very simple for the US, the Us can also draw on its advances in sport science to incorporate in the game. What seems to hold back the US is the ability to incorporate technical and creative players in the game. In time this will come as creativity is well appreciated in basketball (flair even draws more money).
The prof. made a constructive critique of Ja which I think went to waste: The prof said because of our history in cricket, we tend to approcah football with the same mentality. we tend to wait around to see what will happen (as in cricket you wait) Brasilians don't wait, they create plays and attacks by moving without the ball. we have to start teaching our young how to attack the opponent without the ball. Shooting, passing tec is a must.
Just giving you guys what I spoke about with friends.
