John Barnes' Tranmere Rovers FC were briefly listed for sale on E Bay for a starting price of USD $10 million. The owners listed without the knowledge of team management. After Rovers management found out, the auction was removed.

Tranmere Rovers FC have been listed on eBay at a starting price of $10 million.
An advertisement was placed on the internet auction site on Thursday morning by American business consultants Dornoch Capital. The auction was ended shortly after the Super Whites discovered what was going on.
"Mr Johnson was very disappointed to discover that Dornoch Capital had chosen eBay.com as a route to find a potential buyer and would not have given permission for them to do so had he been asked", a club spokesman said.
Rovers chairman Peter Johnson admitted that the club was up for sale but not on eBay and only to 'the right person'.
He said: "I'm absolutely appalled. We only found out this morning. I just couldn't believe that anybody was selling a football club on eBay.
"If the right person comes in and wants to buy Tranmere then they can do so. A lot of strange people do want to run or own football clubs but we have got to be careful that the right person comes in here."
"I don't know where that price came from. They've been instructed to remove it from eBay immediately and I'll be considering their position tomorrow (Friday)."
