Alexander Hleb's future remains uncertain with reports suggesting he could be set to rejoin Stuttgart.
The Belarus midfielder moved to Barcelona from Arsenal last summer but endured a frustrating 12 months at Camp Nou as he struggled to hold down a place in the side.
He had been expected to head to Inter Milan on a season-long loan as part of the recently concluded swap deal involving Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Samuel Eto'o.
However, it now appears the 28-year-old has turned down the chance to play for Inter as he could not be guaranteed regular football.
According to media stories in Germany and Italy, Stuttgart are interested in signing Hleb after missing out on Klaas-Jan Huntelaar of Real Madrid.
It is understood they are discussing a loan deal for Hleb, who spent five years with the Bundesliga club between 2000 and 2005.
