Nigel Neita

Jamaican-born forward Nigel made an instant impact following his arrival in North London from Milwall in the summer of 2008.
A tall, technically-gifted footballer who has been compared to Emmanuel Adebayor; Nigel started life at Arsenal in the u-16s and impressed as he became a regular on the scoresheet and formed a formidable partnership with Zak Ansah.
In February, after a string of successful appearances for Steve Gatting’s side, he found himself in Steve Bould’s under-18 squad and made his debut as a substitute against Chelsea; coming very close to scoring at Cobham.
In the next match, at home to Fulham, he did find the net, again coming on as a substitute and hitting a composed finish which saw his stock rise considerably.
He started the following game, at home to Watford but struggled to make an impact and was soon back in the u-16s. A sabbatical in his homeland helped him to avoid the hype surrounding him and he returned at the Atalanta Cup.
Next season will see him start regularly for the u-16s and he will hope to force his way back into Steve Bould’s thinking.
