  • Copa Oro 2009 Final

So this is the dream finish I wanted. MY TEAM v. MexTico for the top prize.

The promotors are licking their chops ...........$$$$...

Would not be surprised if 80,000+ Giants Stadium is filled with football FAN-atics.

I am positive the entire forum watched the Costa Rica v. MexTico match.

One word on that match: wow!!!

Bruce: do you know the attendance for last nights' game at Soldier Field? I also want to talk about the Mexican fans.....

I'll Try To Look It Up...

Soldier Field has a capacity of 61,000. Judging from what I saw, I would say attendance was 50K to 55 K.

The CONCACAF Gold Cup site lists the official attendance as 55,173.

I have on several occasion--been in the middle of Mexican fans when their country is playing. It's not a place to be for the faint-hearted...

The Mexicans save beer, soda, water (and possible other liquids). These liquids are tossed in to the air after a goal. Just prepare to get wet...and that's seems to be the norm.

Last night, the Costa Rican corner takers were pelted with anything that can be tossed. South American football seems to be that way.

I can just imagine the job the Chicago cops had in herding the 'rabbid' MexTicans out of town...................

Contrasted with Jamaican football fans...boring would best describe a RB football atmosphere. Well that's if one is a ganja smoka.....

            Re: Pelted with anything...

I remember Courtney, of blessed memory, posting about his and his fellow Reggae Boyz supporterz being pleted with 'stuff' in the Estadio Azteca...and as he told us...it wasn't pretty.
