Jamaican referees for Gold Cup quarters

    Friday, July 17, 2009
Jamaica's referee team of Courtney Campbell, Ricardo Morgan and Anthony Garwood will officiate in the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarter-final match between Mexico and Haiti at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas on Sunday.

Campbell, a Jamaican police officer, will stand in the middle with experienced assistant referees Morgan and Garwood. This will be Campell's second match at the tourney, having done duties in the game between the USA and Honduras in Washington in the group phase.
The fourth official will be Geoffey Hospedales of Trinidad and Tobago.
The Mexico-Haiti match-up will be the second of a double-header, with Caribbean outfit Guadeloupe down to face Costa Rica in the opening contest.

The other two quarter-final matches will be played at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia and will feature Canada up against Honduras and USA taking on Panama.

Jamaica's Reggae Boyz crashed out of the tournament at the group stage, after failing to secure one of the spots for the best third- place finishers.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Well at least there will be a reason for the forum pundits to watch these exciting matches!! They get to watch the refff.

There are no posting and excitement about the upcoming games....

MY TEAM should handle Panama in short order.

Canada v. Honduras and Costa Rica v. Guadeloupe should be a good nail biter.

But the quarter final highlight will be the MexTico v. Haiti war.
I am split about who i want to win this one.

But from a business perspective, a MY TEAM v. MexTico can sell tickets and rammmm stadium.

Very funny... but as a friend of mine used to say..."many a truthful thing is said in jest"... watching the ref might just be the highlight of any game the USA plays in... (notwithstanding that match in the Confed Cup v Brazil; the exception that makes the rule)

Don't think I have forgotten about the seafood platter you owe me from the confed outcome PR.

I hope with time you will warm up to the US style and philosophy in futbol.

I do not think I will be warming up (to) anything, including the seafood platter...yu gwoin nyam it cold , straight from the fridge...

And speaking of seafood I just returned from Jamaica, and I think I had fish almost everyday... believe it or not the best was Aunt May's (?) steam fish at Hellshire...better than the relatively pricey Evita's (steam fish) in Ochie where we splurged on the last night. I was disappointed in the Middle Quarter's crayfish... more salt than pepper; like dem salt it good and warm it up daily? I'll try to post more on the JA forum.

I am planning to be on the Islan' shortly.

I am looking forward to foraging mainly on seafood.

Just can't wait on this evening thrashing of Panama.
