i only saw the 1st half and my impression was that we were trying to play pretty (not very successfully) instead of simple, effective ball. we showed absolutely no purpose in the final third. passing the ball around serves no purpose if your are not threatening your opponent. i suspect that a JB coached team would have won tonight. his emphasis on keeping shape and playing according to your system would have served us well in the game.
