  • Did the selection panel err?

Aside from leading the DPL by scoring 25 goals, and then slotting in 4 goals in 3 games for the national team, what was Devon Hodges mistake? According to reports he did not have a good game in the second Cayman game. But how did one bad game obliterated the exploits of a glorious DPL season and then 2 impressive national team games? Tappa should've selected Hodges, even if it had to be at the expense of Luton Shelton!

The question as to why Keammar Daley was not carried to the Gold Cup is another one hard to fathom. Somehow though (and inspite of his obvious skills), there must be something that he's not displaying to the coaches. JB had him in his squads but really didn't play him much. It's a shame that this little dynamite will not get the chance to showcase his skills at the Gold Cup.

Ryan Johnson is having a blistering season at San Jose and has shown a vast improvement over his last MLS season. Would've liked to see him but I'm not overly concerned about his omission because, unlike Hodges and Daley, he is already in a pro setting where he is getting the chance to hone his skills weekly.

Would've liked to see "Shortman" at the Gold Cup but it's hard to argue with his exclusion when one considers that he would've had to beat out either Jason Morrison or Rudolph Austin to get a spot.

Tappa was remiss in not giving prior consideration to Shavar Thomas. This player would've been an upgrade over Pepe Goodison who is slowed by injuries.

    The Missing Squad

(Forwards) Devon Hodges, Roland Dean, Ryan Johnson, Dever Orgill

    Full Squad

while some selection was not on merit or current form it goes to show the talent pool we do have available.

shavar, Andy, Khari, Ryan, Kemar, Hodges, "shortman" Wollery Wolfe, Demar Stewart, and a few others all left behind.

Let us see how it toes. On current form I Dane Richards is lucky to be in the squad.

Sass, Dane is VERY LUCKY to be in this squad and at the expense of Hodges, Ryan Johnson and Keamr Daley to boot. If I had to select one out of that four I would've given th enod to Ryan Johnson for what he has been doing at San Jose this season.

Yow Brickie, a suh di ting set. Is selection panel a dweet!

I think Tappa picked Dane based on how he performed for him not based on his club form.

            He scored many goals?
            ...but how?

15 went through goalie's hands? ...5 he was falling and the ball hit him and ended in the goal? ...or 15 brilliant or good goals? ...and...?

Then there is; was he playing good team? ...or did he give away the ball 6 or more times in each game? ...did he support or did he have his team playing with 10 save and except when he was running to goal?

...I am asking those in the know to tell us about Mr. Devon Hodges? I certainly have not a clue what type of player he is.

Why can't we pick teams based on current form? Like other countries do?

with you on this farmah... dane richards is behind many on the missing team list... ryan should be ahead of dane... i also would reward hodges before using richards... not saying richards isn't good because he obviously has quality but others ar also deserving...

shavar long deseved his place... its time we move away from pepe... he has a big heart and gives us his all everytime... however, he should make way for the future and we have capable younger players like shavar...

Most countries have similar situations. Where a player has performed well for that coach in the National team even though he is not playing that great for the club.

After the gold Cup tyrone and Pepe even though they are my players shouldn't be near a roster again.

It is however the responsibility of claude, stew peas, shavar(to a lesser extent) and others to step up and deliver too as they are the reason Pepe is still in the squad.

i think someone is afraid to tell pepe that he is no longer needed... all those players have proven themselves to be most capable of managing the defense...

Is it possible that Pepe at his age may still be better than the others? I recall the WCQ in Mexico, Pepe certainly showed that he is still capable. If its a case where Pepe is one of the better defenders, then he deserves to be there until he retires or cannot perform anymore.

Not true B. The record speaks for itself. Check how many red cards Stew Peas and Claude have gotten over the last 3 years. It worries me a lot.

also check the scoreline when both are playing in the defense togather. Both are good marking backs but not the greatest sweepers available.
