i think he has a 100% record as a national coach including 3 WCQ games with everyhing on the line...
my only reservation is that all the games he has coached so far have been home games....i think he is 6-0 including wins over mexico and honduras

The record books will not have an asterisk beside Seba specifying that their coach was on the staff of the JFF hence it was OK for them to be relegated.
The 3 World Cup qualifying results were excellent for Whitmore and his record as an Interim National Coach, but his record as a coach overall in my opinion is not anything to write home about.
Just to stir the pot, who is the best coach in Jamaica right now, based on results and National Premiere League trophies, if the position is to be rewarded on record why hasnt he been given a chance to coach the national team.

It might be able to tell that he is no Guus Hiddink, but he may be be damn good when focused on one team.
As for your NPL coaches, most have an aproach to football that is lacking. You would want Lenny Hyde or DV managing your National Team?

We shouldn't discount the licences...maybe Munro just doesn't have the personnel
I think if a coach is serious about his job he should go through the training process... even if he's getting results without it. Tappa, having played professionally will understand a lot of the coaching techniques and methodology, but I believe that sitting in the classroom (and applying on the field) is the sure way to consolidate all that you do intuitively.
I wish him continued success anyway, licence or no licence.Peter R

I try to explain to people it's a lot like juggling. Just because someone can juggle doesn't mean he can play a lick, in saying that however all good players can juggle so there is a correlation.
Same with coaching licenses...just because you have one doesn't mean you can coach....however all good coaches have them so there is a correlation.
I personally don't think Barnes is any better than Tappa at face value but whether Whitmore is the best of the best or worst of the worst completing a high level coaching course is only a plus. Professionalism is something we should embrace, not ridicule or scoff at. - T.K.No need to thank me forumites.

as I have never met a player who could not juggle it may be that...all bad players can juggle so there is a correlation?
