Liverpool may only be playing for the runners-up spot but tension still appears to be running high as team-mates Jamie Carragher and Alvaro Arbeloa clashed in an explosive exchange at The Hawthorns.
The visitors were cruising at 2-0 as West Brom were doomed to be relegated when Anfield general Carragher appeared to take issue with the Spain defender's approach to marking.Fierce words were exchanged, fingers shoved in chests and spittle flew as Xabi Alonso tried in vain to make peace.
Afterwards, Rafa Benitez claimed that it showed just how much his players cared. And that is certainly one way of looking at it.
